In Chhattisgarh, the Samagra Shiksha Department embarked on a journey to revolutionize early childhood education through the establishment of Balwadi centers in every school across the state.
In Chhattisgarh, the Samagra Shiksha Department embarked on a journey to revolutionize early childhood education through the establishment of Balwadi centers in every school across the state.
The challenge lay in efficiently overseeing the preparation of over 5000 Balwadi centers in the first year, necessitating accurate information and informed decision-making.
To address this need, EdIndia collaborated with the Samagra Shiksha Department, Chhattisgarh in March 2022, to create a data collection tool. This tool became the linchpin for assessing Balwadi readiness on multiple fronts – from infrastructure to manpower availability. The collected data formed the foundation for a comprehensive dashboard that illuminated the progress of the Balwadi campaign.
The dashboard was utilized for various purposes as listed below:
- Regular Monitoring : The introduction of technology enabled officials to keep a watchful eye on
- Balwadi preparation : By closely monitoring the process, they were able to identify bottlenecks and address issues promptly.
- Resource Allocation : Data-driven insights ensured that resources were allocated precisely where needed. From constructing new buildings to creating classrooms and training Anganwadi Workers, decisions were guided by tangible evidence.
- Budget Allocation : The use of data to inform decisions allowed for optimal budget allocation. Each Balwadi center’s unique needs were considered, ensuring that funds were utilized efficiently.
With the dashboard tracking progress in real time, the authorities could celebrate milestones and focus attention on centers that needed additional support.
