Her name is Deepmala, a second-year D.El.Ed. student at DIET Barkot, and her story is a powerful reminder that courage and conviction can redefine destiny.
From her school days, Deepmala carried a dream close to her heart, to become a teacher. In her community, many encouraged her to aim for government jobs that promised stability and financial security. And she could have easily gone that way. In fact, she cleared multiple competitive exams, including CRPF Constable, Delhi Police Head Constable, and Wireless Operator. But while others saw those as milestones of success, Deepmala saw them as detours from her true calling. For her, real success was never about uniforms or titles, it was about holding a piece of chalk, standing in front of a classroom, and shaping young minds.
This unshakable clarity brought her to the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) program. And today, she is not just preparing to become a teacher, she is already stepping into leadership. As a Student Ambassador in EdIndia Foundation’s Teacher Education Program, Deepmala inspires her peers by actively participating in workshops, motivating trainee teachers, and showing that dedication pays off. Currently, she is in her school internship, where her long-held dream is coming alive each day.
