Teacher Education
Program

To ensure that every child in the country has access to quality education, it is essential to ensure that those who have the responsibility to impart education are prepared to do the same.

Besides the roles and responsibilities of other stakeholders, teachers enjoy a place and role of prominence as facilitators for such a level of education at the school level. There have been significant efforts over the years from various government and civil societies for improvement in quality of teacher training for in-service teachers. However, and important link to ultimately improving the quality of teachers in India is building the capacity of Pre-service teachers.

At the entry level, Indian Teacher Education system faces a peculiar problem. While there are over 10.6L Teacher posts lying vacant, majority of them lie vacant because the CTET pass percentage is only 13.7%.

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation has been closely working with Teacher Education Institutes and DIETs across the country to address the problem of quality of teachers by building the capacity of pre-service as well as in-service teachers.

Data Analytics Support
Program

India’s education system generates vast amounts of data every day — from student enrolment to exam outcomes, teacher deployment, and school infrastructure. Yet, much of this information remains underutilized.

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation’s Data Analytics Support Program (DASP) transforms raw data into actionable insights. By empowering education departments, administrators, and policymakers to make evidence-based decisions, the program is strengthening public education systems across India.

Through technology integration, capacity building, and customized dashboards, DASP is helping governments shift from data collection to data action — ensuring that every number tells a story of progress and every insight drives improvement.

  Why Data Matters in Education

Data Analytics Support Program

India serves over 250 million students through one of the world’s largest public education systems. Despite massive data generation, decision-making often relies on intuition rather than insights.

When administrators have timely, accurate, and visualized data, they can identify learning gaps, optimize teacher deployment, and track school performance, leading to smarter planning and better outcomes for students.

That’s where the Data Analytics Support Program steps in.

Creating a culture of data-driven decision making

Our Approach

At DASP’s core lies a simple belief, data should not just be collected, it should be used to drive meaningful action.

EdIndia collaborates with state governments, SCERTs, and education departments to build their capacity for managing, analyzing, and using education data effectively.

FLN and PARAKH Dashboards

EdIndia supports Samagra Shiksha Chhattisgarh in analyzing large-scale data for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and PARAKH Mock Tests covering 9 lakh+ students across 50,000 schools.

  • Developed FLN dashboards accessible to 2 state and 60 district administrators for performance tracking.
  • Created PARAKH Dashboards for subject-wise analysis, school rankings, and student progress reports.
  • Orientation sessions trained officials to interpret data insights for planning remedial interventions.

Student Performance Monitoring

In partnership with MCGM and Directorate of Education, Maharashtra:

  • Built dashboards for SSC board performance and scholarship exams, improving planning and remedial teaching.
  • Tracked progress of 11,000+ SSC students, identifying improvement areas in Mathematics and Second Language.
  • Supported over 1,000 schools and 213 teachers through real-time monitoring tools.

Hamara Vidyalaya App

In Namsai District, EdIndia’s Hamara Vidyalaya App digitized teacher attendance, leave management, and student exam data.

  • 92% teachers successfully used the app for tracking and reporting.
  • 730 teachers and 15 administrators trained through workshops and video tutorials.
  • Improved data transparency, administrative efficiency, and real-time decision-making.

  Why It Matters

Data Analytics Support Program

In a system as vast as India’s, even a single insight can spark transformation. DASP ensures that every dataset, whether a classroom assessment or an attendance sheet, becomes a tool for progress.

By combining technology with human capacity, the program helps governments see beyond spreadsheets, to understand what’s working, what’s not, and how to act on it.

  Impact at Scale

Independent assessments by Third Party (2024–25) validate DASP’s effectiveness

Data Analytics Support Program

85% of administrators now use real-time data for decisions (up from 59% pre-intervention).
