Teacher Education
Program

To ensure that every child in the country has access to quality education, it is essential to ensure that those who have the responsibility to impart education are prepared to do the same.

Besides the roles and responsibilities of other stakeholders, teachers enjoy a place and role of prominence as facilitators for such a level of education at the school level. There have been significant efforts over the years from various government and civil societies for improvement in quality of teacher training for in-service teachers. However, and important link to ultimately improving the quality of teachers in India is building the capacity of Pre-service teachers.

At the entry level, Indian Teacher Education system faces a peculiar problem. While there are over 10.6L Teacher posts lying vacant, majority of them lie vacant because the CTET pass percentage is only 13.7%.

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation has been closely working with Teacher Education Institutes and DIETs across the country to address the problem of quality of teachers by building the capacity of pre-service as well as in-service teachers.

Data Analytics Support Program

India’s education system generates vast amounts of data every day, from student enrolment to examination outcomes, teacher deployment, and school infrastructure. Yet, much of this information remains underutilised.

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation’s Data Analytics Support Programme transforms raw data into actionable insights. By enabling education departments, administrators, and policymakers to make evidence-based decisions, the programme is strengthening public education systems across India.

Through technology integration, capacity building, and customised dashboards, the programme is helping governments shift from data collection to data-driven action, ensuring that every number tells a story of progress and every insight drives meaningful improvement.

Why Data Matters in Education

Data Analytics Support Program

At the school level, data analytics can become a powerful tool for day-to-day decision-making and long-term improvement. By analysing student attendance, assessment performance, classroom participation, and subject-wise trends, school leaders can identify which students need targeted support and which teaching strategies are delivering results.
It also helps schools monitor dropout risks early, strengthen remedial planning, and improve learning outcomes through personalised interventions. Beyond academics, data can support better resource allocation, such as identifying infrastructure gaps, tracking textbook availability, monitoring digital usage, and ensuring optimal utilisation of school grants.
When school heads and teachers have access to simple, visual dashboards, they are better equipped to take timely action, set measurable goals, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Our Approach

Education Data Illustration
At the core of the programme lies a simple belief: data should not only be collected but also used to drive meaningful action.
Sterlite EdIndia Foundation works closely with state governments, SCERTs, and education departments to strengthen their capacity to manage, analyse, and utilise education data effectively.
Through targeted interventions, the programme is building a data-literate education ecosystem where every stakeholder, from school leaders to policymakers, uses insights to make informed decisions and improve learning outcomes.

Integrating multiple data sources, improving reliability, and streamlining data validation to ensure accuracy across systems.

Designing user-friendly dashboards that turn complex datasets into real-time, actionable insights, enabling better monitoring and accountability.

Training administrators and educators in data interpretation and application for improved decision-making
