Live lectures are filmed at a digital Centre in the city. The teachers who are trained as Virtual Classroom expert deliver lectures to hundreds of schools simultaneously depending on the language of instruction, school timing & learning grades of the students. The expert teacher has access to digital blackboard which helps screen audio-visual aids for the schools.
Lectures are beamed to classrooms via 60” plasma screens installed in every school. A webcam installed in every school enables the expert teacher to view the classrooms where the lectures are screened. Students in a particular school can communicate with the expert teacher using a microphone at any given time. Thus, it’s a two way communication channel.
Geographical location of the school is irrelevant as long as the school is on the virtual network, i.e. connected via Internet. The remote location does not affect the quality of instruction. All teachers delivering lectures and the in-class teachers can view each other and can participate in the on-going discussion.
The in-class teachers are required to be present and fully involved in the learning process of a Virtual Classroom session. They are provided with support on how they could guide students simultaneously when the sessions are screened.
Pedagogy experts create content that consists of Power point presentations and curated audio-video aids. The content is compiled based on the timely feedback the team receives from virtual classroom sessions.
Expert teachers who deliver virtual class lessons as well as the in-class teachers are trained to assist and guide the students learn the content better and make the class more engaging.
Student monitoring & assessment
Students are monitored during the screening of sessions and timely feedback is provided on their progress. Students in engaged as well as engaged schools are assessed at the beginning and end of the year. This assessment is compared to estimate the impact of EdIndia’s interventions.
