The conversion of UPS, Vasundhra Colony to higher secondary level, from the earlier primary level, posed a significant challenge as the school’s infrastructure and staffing remained unchanged. Concerns emerged among teachers about maintaining educational standards and their impact on the community.

Amid all the limitations, Ms. Kalpana Sharma, an experienced teacher connected with the Jail Department, brought a unique perspective to the situation. In her first interaction with a EdIndia’s team member, Ms. Sharma expressed concerns about effective teaching. Despite initial reservations, she explored EdIndia’s Program and gave it a fair chance.

As the Project coordinator continued to engage with Ms. Sharma, her outlook evolved, to become positive each day. The coordinator conducted classes within the school, introducing students to activities and encouraging group work. Using the App, these classes added a new dimension of engagement for students. This pushed Ms. Sharma to be the change she wished to see.
