We aim at infusing the school education system in India with new energy, enthusiasm and expertise

She further spoke about the evolution of the Indian education system and how teachers have adapted and evolved. She also mentioned how technology has been included in the educational dynamics changing the teaching-learning process. Talking about teacher development and the educational sector, Ms Menon said – most of them have realized that,

If you want to improve schools, you have to improve the quality of teachers and teaching.

Furthermore, Ms Menon also shared with us the various programs offered by TTF for schoolteachers, school leaders and individual teachers. She said, “We aim to provide teacher support and development opportunities for teachers around the year; because we believe that if you want to bring changes in the teaching practices, you need to engage and support the teacher for at least one academic year.” When asked about the benefits or impact of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on teachers, Ms Menon said, “the policy is very promising as it talks about the various skills that need to be developed in young people, the kinds of teachers required for developing these skills, so on and so forth. However, NEP does not detail the roadmap of ‘HOW’ it has to be done”. Finally, Ms Menon also gave us insights on the upcoming programs of TTF that, as educators, we should look forward to.
