Kiran Bacche - Author And Project Ambassador, Global Math Project & DhiMath
Kiran Bacche loves teaching mathematics. He has authored numerous articles explaining math concepts in a simple visual way. He also conducts activity-oriented math sessions for students in Bangalore. His vision is to promote mathematical thinking in students, in a joyous way. A successful author of two international publications, “The Magic and Joy of Exploding Dots” and “Mathematical Approach to Puzzle Solving”.Mr Kiran is also a member of AMTI (The Association of Mathematics Teachers of India) and has engaged with ED3D Team to redefine the boundaries of modern education through innovation based “Design Thinking” pedagogy. He also has articles on math concepts and applications published in Mathematics Magazine (Canada) and Teachers of India Portal.
In an exclusive interview with TechConnect, Mr Kiran Bacche talked about how his love for math lets him make math a fun learning experience for children. He shared the journey of the Global Math Project and how DhiMath began. Mr Bacche also walked us through his books “The Magic and Joy of Exploding Dots” and “Mathematical Approach to Puzzle Solving”. While talking about the vision of the Global Math Project and DhiMath, Mr Bacche said,
“Our vision was to uplift Joyful Math, not just in India but across the globe. We want children to enjoy while they study and not lose interest in math.”
Furthermore, he spoke about the community groups created for math and how it brings together people from various parts of the globe who love maths. When asked about working with vernacular groups and content, Mr Bacche said, “currently we have only English, but we have started catering to larger Hindi groups of audiences, and so we have started releasing Hindi videos on our YouTube channel for exploding dots. We also have plans to explore other Indian languages and have content around the same soon.” When asked about upcoming projects, Mr Bacche shared that they are looking into launching a gamified app for math and the second part of his book, “The magic and joy of exploding dots”, which we should look forward to.
